چکیده
Thin organic films are widely used in sensors, solar cells, and optical devices due to their intense absorption the visible/near-infrared (IR) region. Shifting, quenching, or reshaping of some spectral features can be achieved by chemical functionalization molecules, whereas an anisotropic fingerprint preferential molecular alignment induced via a proper design and/or preparation substrate. Recently, we investigated response thin porphycene acidification. With respect well-known closely related tetraphenyl porphyrin, has clear advantage being optically active full visible range, this makes naked eye immediate change film from brilliant blue-turquoise green when exposed HCl vapors. In work, exploiting homemade reflectance anisotropy spectroscopy (RAS) apparatus, explore possible anisotropies range relate them morphology analyzed atomic force microscopy (AFM).

Adsorption of synthetic homo- and hetero-oligodeoxynucleotides onto highly oriented pyrolytic graphite: atomic force microscopy characterization.
DNA adsorption on electrode surfaces is of fundamental interest for the development of DNA-based biosensors. The free adsorption of 10-mer synthetic oligodeoxynucleotides (ODNs) onto highly oriented pyrolytic graphite (HOPG) surfaces was studied using Magnetic AC mode atomic force microscopy (MAC Mode AFM). The mechanism of interaction of nucleic acids with carbon electrode surfaces was elucida...
متن کاملScanning tunneling microscopy studies of carbon-oxygen reactions on highly oriented pyrolytic graphite
The oxidation of highly oriented pyrolytic graphite (HOPG) in air at elevated temperatures was studied by examination of the oxidized HOPG by scanning tunneling microscopy (STM). Etch pits of uniform size and monolayer depth were readily formed on preexisting defects or generated vacancies in the HOPG basal plane by heating freshly cleaved HOPG samples in air at 650 OC. The density of the pits ...
متن کاملStudy of the growth of NiO on highly oriented pyrolytic graphite by X-ray absorption spectroscopy
In this work, we present a X-ray absorption spectroscopy (XAS) study of the growth of NiO on highly oriented pyrolytic graphite (HOPG). NiO as been grown by reactive evaporation of metallic Ni in an oxygen atmosphere (2× 10−5 Torr) at room temperature. We paid special attention to he study of the early stages of growth. Both, Ni 2p and O 1s core-level XAS spectra were measured. For large NiO co...
متن کاملScanning tunneling spectroscopy simulations of poly(3-dodecylthiophene) chains adsorbed on highly oriented pyrolytic graphite.
We report on a hybrid scheme to perform efficient and accurate simulations of scanning tunneling spectroscopy (STS) of molecules weakly bonded to surfaces. Calculations are based on a tight binding (TB) technique, including a self-consistent calculation of the electronic structure of the molecule, to predict STS conductance spectra. The use of a local basis makes our model easily applicable to ...
متن کاملElectrografting of poly carbazole-co-acrylamide onto highly oriented pyrolytic graphite. A cyclovoltammetric, atomic force microscopic and ellipsometric study
Ž . The electrocopolymerization of carbazole and acrylamide on highly oriented pyrolytic graphite HOPG from ACN solutions Ž . via cyclovoltammetry CV was studied in order to evaluate the possibility to deposit uniform and thin but pinhole-free and still reactive coatings onto graphite-like substrates. The morphology of the coatings was investigated using atomic force microscopy and the coating ...
